The pianist Christopher Hästbacka, born in Stockholm, has studied at the Royal College of music in Stockholm and at Edsbergs music institute for professors Stefan Bojsten and Mats Widlund.
Christopher has received many prizes in national and international competitions. In 2012 he was the only person from Scandinavia to reach the finals of the international Nordic Piano Competition, where he was awarded fourth prize. He has also participated in the Swedish Steinway Piano Competition and received first, second and third prize. In June 2014 he participated in Stockholm International Music Competition and won first prize. With his chamber music duo Duo Hästbacka Persson that also consist of the saxophonist Linn Persson he was elected to be Ung och Lovande 2015 by the chamber music society in Sweden. In January 2016 he was awarded second prize in Swedens most distinguished soloist competition Solistpriset 2016 that took place in Berwaldhallen in Stockholm and was broadcasted live on the Swedish national radio. He is also a scholar many years back of the Royal Music Academy in Sweden.
As a Chamber musician and soloist Christopher has toured in Sweden and Europe and played with many orchestras, as them the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and worked with conductors B Tommy Andersson and Jaime Martin.
